Yay death
I don't normally stray into topics of the political nature, mostly because I think that a lot of the blogs out there are regurgitated, uninformed crap, but I'll mention this because it's in one of my fields of considerable knowledge and interest. When I say that, I mean the continued dumb-fuck Palestinian suicide bombing raid on Israel, and now Israel's very appropriate response. Note that the immediate dumb-fuck response of the Palestinians is to horde around the carcasses and chant "God is great" (or, as we've come to be familiar with it in movies featureing dumb-fuck militants, Allahu Akbar). That's normally what I do when people get killed, especially those who are terrorists. I'm sorry that the powers-that-be confiscated your land to make up for hundreds of years of Europeans Jew-bashing, but that was 60 years ago. Get over it. Try to get along. God thinks you are dumb-fucks, and he's right. You bring it on yourselves. Find your militants and string them up by their balls. This kind of shit is great for me: I don't need caffeine in the morning when I read about the latest religious dumb-fuck maneuvers. Apologies to Rachel Lucas if I sound like her.
Infrequent observations, comments on the news, rants against stupidity, demonstrations of absurdity.

Honoring the 9/11 hijackers
What a bunch of deluded assholes. Although it the article did afford me my Religious Idiot Quote of the Day:
So, therefore, anything that happens is sanctioned by "God". What unassailable (and unprovable, naturally) logic. GOAK knows and allows all as well.
- Bakri told NBC the actions of the hijackers were sanctioned by God: “If God did not permit that to happen, (it) would never happen.”

The Axis of Just as Evil
It's been over a year since Bush gave his 2002 State of the Union address, where he declared the Axis of Evil: North Korea, Iran, and Iraq. Shortly thereafter, this famously hilarious satire appeared all over the internet. Now that Iraq appears to have lost its membership card, maybe Kim Jong-II will let them in. Still makes me guffaw after all this time:
- Beijing (SatireWire.com) — Bitter after being snubbed for membership in the "Axis of Evil," Libya, China, and Syria today announced they had formed the "Axis of Just as Evil," which they said would be way eviler than that stupid Iran-Iraq-North Korea axis President Bush warned of his State of the Union address.
Axis of Evil members, however, immediately dismissed the new axis as having, for starters, a really dumb name. "Right. They are Just as Evil... in their dreams!" declared North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. "Everybody knows we're the best evils... best at being evil... we're the best."
Diplomats from Syria denied they were jealous over being excluded, although they conceded they did ask if they could join the Axis of Evil.
"They told us it was full," said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
"An Axis can't have more than three countries," explained Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. "This is not my rule, it's tradition. In World War II you had Germany, Italy, and Japan in the evil Axis. So you can only have three. And a secret handshake. Ours is wicked cool."
THE AXIS PANDEMIC
International reaction to Bush's Axis of Evil declaration was swift, as within minutes, France surrendered.
Elsewhere, peer-conscious nations rushed to gain triumvirate status in what became a game of geopolitical chairs. Cuba, Sudan, and Serbia said they had formed the Axis of Somewhat Evil, forcing Somalia to join with Uganda and Myanmar in the Axis of Occasionally Evil, while Bulgaria, Indonesia and Russia established the Axis of Not So Much Evil Really As Just Generally Disagreeable.
With the criteria suddenly expanded and all the desirable clubs filling up, Sierra Leone, El Salvador, and Rwanda applied to be called the Axis of Countries That Aren't the Worst But Certainly Won't Be Asked to Host the Olympics; Canada, Mexico, and Australia formed the Axis of Nations That Are Actually Quite Nice But Secretly Have Nasty Thoughts About America, while Spain, Scotland, and New Zealand established the Axis of Countries That Sometimes Ask Sheep to Wear Lipstick.
"That's not a threat, really, just something we like to do," said Scottish Executive First Minister Jack McConnell.
While wondering if the other nations of the world weren't perhaps making fun of him, a cautious Bush granted approval for most axes, although he rejected the establishment of the Axis of Countries Whose Names End in "Guay," accusing one of its members of filing a false application. Officials from Paraguay, Uruguay, and Chadguay denied the charges.
Israel, meanwhile, insisted it didn't want to join any Axis, but privately, world leaders said that's only because no one asked them.

Short Counter-Point
My esteemed colleague (who may be receiving his own WMD in the mail shortly, heh heh heh) has written a short piece about credibility and WMD. Here's my observation on it:
Credibility of the piece depends purely on the perception of the reader. The commentary piece doesn't demonstrate one way or another. It is what it is, unless you start trying to find out the hidden meaning -- then it becomes a Rorschach test for whether you are a supporter of the administration or not. Either that or fuel for one's paranoia.
As for the WMD find, I'm not concerned in the slightest. I'm certain that if and when the time comes that is appropriate, elements will be revealed. Until then, I could care less what the objector-pundits demand. And neither should or does the administration. Good for them.

This just in!!! In a stunning display of underwhelming news, France has declared that it won't authorize a U.N. resolution allowing the United States and Britain to administer postwar Iraq. I'm shocked. Really.
Can anyone tell me when France has approved anything?
They would most likely veto a resolution to save their own asses in world community status. Oh, wait, they already have.

Well, in case you've been unable to find a working television set, or for some reason have begun Lent early by shunning newspapers, we finally captured the kingfish brainpower behind al Queda this weekend, during what looks to be a massive hangover.
They also apparently took his two sons, 7 and 9 years of age into custody. I'm not sure how much brainwashing, er, indoctrinating they've had into their dad's way of life (I should say former way of life for mister-soon-to-be-living-the-rest-of-his-short-life-in-agonzing-pain [thanks Ving]), but I hope someone is considering their situation right now. I see two alternatives: re-education or death. Although it would be nice if these kids could be saved, I think that it might be better to have them "corrected" (in the Charles Grady from The Shining sense of the word) than risk having them grow up mad, mad and determined to 'avenge' in the name of "Allah".
Of course, I don't plan to win any flowers with this attitude, but in light of what this f-ing guy has done, I'm willing to walk on the dark side for a bit.
